Students Impacted

At Give More HUGS (GMH) we realize that the lack of proper school supplies, resources, and support can greatly impair a student’s academic success. We also know that the lack of academic resources can make effective lesson planning more difficult for teachers. We have created a unique model to engage students to help spread GMH programs to impact more students annually. Each year, we impact over 12,000 students’ lives in Texas, New York, Connecticut, Dominica, and more.

Our HUGS Ambassador Program provides the opportunity for students, middle school through college level, to participate in creating change within their community by increasing awareness about students in need and providing the essential tools to help foster their academic success. Ambassadors work together to plan events that inspire, motivate, and encourage change in the lives of students. These experiences give HUGS Ambassadors an opportunity to conduct community service hours while making a positive difference.

Countless amounts of used texts and literature are handed to the dumping grounds, while there are children who do not have a book to call their own. Our HUGS Book Share program provides new or gently used books, each with a handwritten inspirational message, to encourage and empower students in need. We are able to share the love of reading with students in underserved communities by hosting book fairs and book signing events throughout the year.

While many families struggle to provide school supplies for their children, many schools also lack the funding to purchase these resources for their students. Our HUGS Backpack program provides individuals, classrooms, and even entire schools with the tools that they are in most need of. These tools can range from small things such as pens, paper, & crayons to large items such as curriculum materials, computers, and bookshelves.
